    Default What to do with frames?

    Lost one of my colonies the other day. Left with junky stuff on brood frames. (comb is on plastic foundation.) What should I do with it now?6.JPG

    It looks like a frame that had the honey robbed. You should be fine using it in another hive.

    Take a hose & wash it all out then u can use it. The benefits of plastic. It looks like some robbing & SHB maybe but I'm not sure. I'm surprised the wax moths have not hit it. A strong hive would clean up a few frames but I would be careful what you give them until you know what you are dealing with.

    I do have SHBs, but usually pretty well controlled in my other 3 hives. I did see a couple of little white worms crawling out of some cells in the dead hive
    .

    Foundation cost 1.25 a sheet. If its really nasty I just put new in. Not sure what plastic cost, but those 2 groove for plastic can be wired for plain easily.
