Question Can someone idenitfy this stuff?

I installed a new package on April 27th. I am planning on opening the hive on Saturday to check for brood, etc. I am new to honey bees.

I am seeing this on the front porch of the hive. The bees are removing it form the hive and I have no idea what it is. Can someone give me some guidance?

I can't really tell from the photo but it could be dropped pollen or chewed capping wax. You will have a better idea after you open the hive and look.

I have TBHs, and they draw their own comb. They drop this stuff on the hive floor all the time. I agree with AR Beekeeper.

Thanks for the info. I think that is what it is. I opened the hive and it has been really active. I was suprised to find that they had already filled out 8.5 of the 9 frames in a two week period. I have added another box and hope to add another this weekend.

    Thanks for the info.
