Default Moved my bee hive and...

I was a little afraid this would happen. I moved my hive maybe 40 feet last night. At the entrance i placed some brush so the bees would hopefully reorient themselves. A lot of them did, but others didn't, so I have quite a few bees flying around at the old location. What should I do? Will they fly back to where the hive is now?

Put an empty box there with some comb in it, once u collect some inside, move them to the new location or put a weak hive there to collect the bees.

As a new bee keeper, my mentor told me this. If you are going to move your bees, move them 3 feet or less or 3 miles. I know it after the fact but something to remember.

put something there a similar height, you might get a small cluster to form, just collect them in a jar or something and you can put them in front of the hive and they'll go right in.

That's a great place to start a new nuc! Unfortunately, I'm sure there is a reason you moved the original hive.
