    Default New to forum (Connecticut)

Hello all! My family has had up to five hives over the years, but we are back down to one after bears, mites, and hurricanes.
We are history buffs and mead makers/brewers, and our first grader is now asking about getting her own suit and go look inside the hive.

According to a certain member here, the hurricane threat to hives can be alleviated with 5 gallon buckets of water!

Just be careful trying that approach without an onsite project engineer.

LOL I have a sudden image of "our" bear tipping the hive and getting hit with 5 gallons of water. I wonder if that would work...

Howdy neighbor! Welcome to the forum.
How is your hive doing so far this spring? We need some rain that's for sure!
It's a great hobby to have your children involved in with you. My boys, (12 &15) love working the hive with me as well as building equipment. They have even done a few inspections on their own.
"Mead makers/brewers", huh? I'd love to try making some mead one of these years!! Do you brew your own beer too?

WOW! Combined bear control and hurricane control, all in one bucket! I can see you have a bright future ahead on Beesource. Here's a guide on how to get the word out:

Better than reality TV, but on Beesource ....
