Not sure what happened today... I was out at the hive and moved a queen to a new piece of comb to get her out of the way (same hive). When I set her down, two bees jumped her. The video shows what follows.
Friendly fire?
Did you use your hands or a queen catcher clip?
I am wondering if the smell of you or some smell of attack pheromones on your gloves caused this.
I dunno.
Never seen that before.
Did she maybe injure a leg? I cannot notice if she is ever stung or not, it looks as if they surround her as if she were on a comb. It also almost looks like a Varroa mite is at the base of her right wing in the last part of the clip. I thought only other queens culled old queens but I could be wrong.
