Dear Oldtimer
Please forgive the Slang on my part.
Green Anole (Anolis carolinensis) A small reptile (lizard) that shifts it's colors depending on it's environment. There are images of them in the hive, on the web-site I believe. The Green Anoles share the hive with the bees. It is a beautiful symbiotic relationship. The Reptiles live in the hive in winter and stay warm. They also consume hive beetles and moths. They sit at the entrance of the hive like little sentinels, waiting for intruders.
