After being out of beekeeping since 1979....man I need to learn all over again...in a hurry, arms sweaty, did not put gloves on...lol....shook a swarm out of a newly planted cherry tree & half the ball feel on my arm...about 10 girls decided they would drop their stingers right there...lol glad to be back....that's what I needed...a BOOST...
got the girls to a top bar hive in my yard, 16 hours later they decided they didn't like the new home(not the first time I have seen that)...I sure have missed beekeeping...but I am here to stay this time....old enough now to enjoy it more....

After 10 stings they owed you and should have stayed!

Do you have a solid bottom on your TBH? I have read on here that the bees are a lot more likely to abscond if you have a screen bottom that is left open when they are newly hived.
