I am a first-time beekeeper. I installed bees on the 8th.
I thought the combs looked beautiful during my first inspection on the 20th. During my inspection today I pulled out what looks like a lot of drone comb. :s
On the whitest comb, I think I can see curled larva around the capped stuff (not sure what it is). It looks like a good pattern, but the other combs have more of a scattered pattern. I have not located the queen yet.
Does this sound/look like a laying worker?
Should I put an order in for a queen asap?
Or is everything dandy?
Any help deciphering my comb would be appreciated!
