First cutout of the year for me today.
It was in a hollow tree stump, I am surprised it made it. The tree was cut down back in February and I covered the open colony with a tarp, a thick layer of straw, then another tarp. I have checked in on them from time to time to be sure they were still alive, then finally I had time today to hive them. Also it was the first time I got to use my bee vac that I built from beesource's plans, and it performed flawlessly and saved loads of work. I have several short clips that I need to get edited together then I will put it on youtube, then link it here.
