Default Longtime lurker in Southern Indiana

Greetings from Southern Indiana. Have been reading the forums for a while and am grateful for how much I've learned. I am a newbie but technically 4th generation and my elders say beekeeping is much harder today than the "olden days," or so they say. My grandfather produced over 100,000 lbs of honey in his best year, 500 hives, 2 man operation, placing hives in alsike clover seed fields in the midwest. Sold at a nickle a pound or something like that....

Things are not looking up for my girls right now, so off to seek wisdom in the appropriate forum. Would love to connect with more beeks in my area.

    Thanks!

There's a club, Southeaster Beekeepers, I think. A web search will find it for you. Welcome. I'm in Central Indiana.

There's also two State organizations: Indiana State Beekeepers and Indiana Beekeepers.

Also Heartland Apicultural Society. They do one big event a year - Bee University. This year it is in Cookeville, TN. July 11-13 at Tennessee Tech University. Great info to be had here.
