Default Remove comb damaged by mice?

My spring visit to my Warre hive revealed about 5 combs with quarter sized holes in center. The rest of the comb was empty (it only had just a tiny bit of brood in the center in the fall.) I'm assuming the holes are from mice as I forgot to put a mouse guard on the box. Should I cut the comb out or leave it for the bees to repair and reuse?

I agree to let them repair but keep an eye on them. I've had comb repair after mouse damage that went haywire and once they start wrong they don't seem to get it right again. I hate to see them "complete" a repair with wonky comb that ends up getting pulled right out. So much energy goes into making wax.
