Default Potential beek in Austin TX Area

    Hi all,

This is my first year of attempted beekeeping. I've been studying and learning as much as I can for months. Hived my first nucs last weekend (two from BeeWeaver). Going to my first county beekeepers assoc. meeting next week. I hope to meet some local experts who can be of help there. Looking forward to learning from other's on here as well.

I live in Liberty Hill TX, which is a little bit north of Austin in the country.

    Regards,
    Nick

If you hived bees last weekend, you are way past "potential", you are a real beekeeper!
And now you are working on your first year of experience.

Thanks. We'll see how things look this weekend. Hopefully they've started drawing out the new frames. I'm also curious to see how much food they've eaten. Everything is blooming here right now.

    Welcome to the site!

Ever eat BBQ in Belton? I used to have a client in Temple and Belton was the place I wanted to go every trip to Texas!

I know just the place you are talking about, it's Schoeph's bbq and it is to die for! I have to go to Belton on occasion and always stop there for the Jalapeno sausage and pecan pie.

I don't roll through Belton much, so haven't hit that spot. Lockhart is our primary go to spot for the real original bbq. Black's is probably my all-time favorite. Cooper's in Llano is also right up there. I'm hungry just thinking about it.
