    Default I cant beleive I,m asking this (Frame/foundation question)

    My shallows are grooved bottom and the top is the type where you trim the piece off and nail it back on...

    What type of foundation do I order... Grooved bottom / ? ? ? (not sure what the top is called...

    Wedge top bars such as you describe can be used with wired or unwired foundation.
    By turning the wedge ninety degrees edgewise the can also be used as a foundationless frame.

    image.jpgThis is Kelley's option. The other bee suppliers have similar products in wired wax foundation. I guess you could use some of the wax coated plastic foundation if you wanted.

    Are you going to extract these frames or cut comb? You don't want to use regular foundation if you are shooting for cut comb. You need either some thin surplus wax or either to go foundationless for cut comb.

    I think these are for using vertical crimped wire foundation. It is wax foundation with vertical crimped wire embeded in it, you put the bottom in the groove and staple back on the top wedge?
