    Sad Queen Bee

I release a new queen bee in my hive today after 3 days. When she came out she flew up I tried to put my hands over her but don't know if I did or not. What are the odds of her coming back?

Assuming it was a mated queen she should be laying in a couple days, so check back then and see if there are any eggs, if there are, close the hive up and leave them alone for a week or so. If after a week no eggs, then she didn't find her way back. John

Just in case she is lost contact the supplier to see if they have a replacement for this issue.
If not then get ready to reorder a new queen. Don't want the hive to be queen less for too
long. Building up population is very important now.

I know it's to late now but in cases where that happens It's best to leave the hive open for 5-10 minutes (if robbing isn't bad) and stepping away from the hive. she usually makes it back in most cases like that. better yet though is to pull the cork and close the hive before she even makes it out of the cage.
