    Default formic acid vs nosema

Acetic acid can be used to sanitize hives after nosema problems. Is it possible that the use of formic acid for mite control might also have a secondary affect on any nosema spores present in the hive?.

    thanks

If it does, it might have a very, very small effect. I base this on what I read here:

    http://scientificbeekeeping.com/the-...ve-treatments/

The reference is a little more than halfway down the page and it indicates that one study found formic acid fumigation only mildly effective. It's worth reading the references.

Not sure about OA fumes. I would suspect not since quite a few beeks use heated OA crystals and I think that someone would have come up with OA as a Nosema killer.
