Default When to Feed New Package?

I am getting a new package that I will put in a hive with drawn combs and 4 frames of honey (this hive's colony was lost this winter, the frames and combs are in good shape, no AFB or EFB). The question is: do I need to feed this package? If yes for how long? If no, is it still worth adding a brood patty?
    Thanks for the hep.

I would, 1-1 syrup will be taken and used better than honey.

I wouldn't. If I'm using packages to re-fill deadouts, and there are frames of honey, I don't feed.

yes I dont understand why syrup would be better than honey (from a known AFB free source). I'm hoping to feed honey only this spring and save a lot of $$ on sugar

well its probably not better, but think of it this way, you can food all summer, but continue to eat fresh as long as possible. Honey is dried out food source, given nectar or 1-1 they will take those sources first.....
