    Default Making your own extractor

Does anyone have any plans to make their own radial extractor out of a 55 gallon drum, possibly even motorized. I'm not willing to open up my wallet and empty it out for the extractors companies sell i'm just trying to save some money

I have seen them online you use a set of bicycle rims, you have to clean out all the grease and use food grade. IT was a guy in Kenya I think.

Here is one I recently made. It has only extracted about 15 gallons so far. Still needs a better motor but works great.

Here is another thread (with nice photos) about construction of a drum-based radial motorized extractor:

    http://www.beesource.com/forums/show...made-extractor!

The extractor in the thread above is powered with a recycled treadmill motor. Treadmills typically have a variable speed motor and associated control system. This makes them more desirable than a motor that is fixed speed.

Also, while neither of the plans use a drum, there are two different extractor plans in the Build-it-Yourself section, here:
