    Default New Nebraska Wannabeekeeper

Hello folks, I am new to the forum and wanting to get started in beekeeping. I do construction work for a living, so I am hoping to save a bit of $$$ on boxes/etc.. My pop has been raising bees for about as many years as I have been alive, maybe longer, so I guess I have a mentor and access to all of the basic equipment. Anyway, I am planning to build some boxes, etc.. this spring/summer and get an order in for some bees during the winter. I hope to start with 6-8 hives next spring, so I will be looking for some package bees, or nucs if I can find some near me. I just started browsing the forums today, and like all other forums I have been a part of, there is so much information and theory that it is disturbingly confusing. I will continue to sift info, then y'all can expect some questions...

Welcome, my son and I keep bees in North Lincoln, we don't have an interest in expanding beyond 2-3 hive right now, but need to control swarms (because we really think we can control nature , may have some nuks late summer.
