    Default Inspection question.

    Hi all,
I live in Central Texas. The weather is warm, 70s and all kinds of blooms. I. Inspected 2 weeks ago and added a honey super to ea ch of. My 5 hives. Most foundationless, one with foundation. I did a short inspectio.n. yesterday to see. If they had started drawing them out. None have been. Should I have done a more extensive inspection to check for swarm cells? On the one hive I checked the upper brood box and saw lots of drone brood. This is my second Spring eith them.

Not an answer, but a question ....

How much of the frames in the existing hives were drawn out or being used at the time you added the supers?

All but then end ones. They seemed crowded to me.

Also not an answer, go ahead & move one of the undrawn end ones to the center. When that one is finished do the same with the other one.
I'm assuming you're nights aren't too cold any more & the population is large.
