We are receiving a couple of packages of bees this week, then we will drive to a little weekend place we have near Austin. Journey is about 3 hours, looking for advice/tips on keeping them ok, e.g feeding, keeping them cool...thanks for any advice
If you are comfortable with the ambient temperature in the vehicle then the bees should be ok...just don't have the air-conditioner or heater blowing on them. Make sure that where you place the crates that the muffler doesn't run beneath the floor at that spot and heat it excessively (I've seen some vehicles...).
Do packages still come with syrup cans installed in the cage?...if they do I wouldn't worry about them starving over the 3 hour drive.
what about putting them in the back of a truck. I am getting some and have about a 5 hr drive or do I want to put them in somthing that wont let the air blow on them as much as my truck bed.

I would put the packages on the truck bed up against the cab wall. Block them in so they don't slide around.
