    Default hive expansion

    Hi all,
    I have a single deep hive that is very full. Should I add another deep above or below the full deep?

    Above is easier, but below works too. Both work better with drawn comb. If you are adding a box of foundation, pull a frame of brood and move it up or down into the center of that new box.

    Fat Beeman has a video of him checker boarding a deep half of the drawn frames go to one deep and half go to the other. alternating between drawn and new foundation
