Default How to tell if capped honey is made of sugar water?

I pulled a frame of capped honey from the hive yesterday and the honey was very light and tasted bland. I wonder if it was just sugar water that the bees put in there. This frame of honey is from this spring and I don't feed the bee anything. Not sure if spring honey is supposed to be so light and thin and bland. The hive is in a suburb. Anyone can tell me how to distingush capped sugar water from honey?

My honey from the early spring flow is also very light. Only I like it that way it is from the fruit trees like plum, peach, almondand others. Don't worry we will move out of this in a few weeks.

It is unlikely they collected sugar water from outside the hive.

Unless OD is open feeding your hive to get them to swarm.
