    Default Tennesse laws

    looking at a possible move to Tn(maryville area) and was wondering about the laws concerning beekeeping in this state/area

    Welcome! Don't know how many hives you are considering, but in TN cities and municipalities cannot keep you from having a couple of hives--their laws are trumped by a state law. At the moment this does not include homeowners' associations, which can ban beekeeping--they are working on that law but at the moment it stands. Aside from that, you are required to register your hives, but that is just filling out a form.

    TN is very beekeeper friendly with lots of commercial and hobbyist beeks and strong associations.
