Would like plans for 5 frame deep butt joint nuc that has a little "wiggle" room for removing frames easily.......

Ok.... stack your frames together and add your "wiggle room".

Recommend the rabbet. You're going to need to cut a frame rest anyway, rabbet is a much better joint, cut the same way.

Check out my mating nuc design here: http://parkerfarms.biz/queens.html#Mating_Nucs I use the same basic design for all my boxes, and can be made with any table saw.

To make the necessary adjustments, you'll make height 9" rather than 7, and the width will be 8.5" - 9". You obviously won't need the internal dividers.

A bottom will be 9" x 1' 7 7/8" and a top will overhang the sides by whatever is your preference.

Easy five frame nucleus hive
