    Default catching a swarm

Earlier I asked the question about taking down an entire hollow branch then doing a cutout after it warmed. Well it is still rather cold her in Iowa and I haven't cut the branch down yet, but we have had a few warm days that should have had bees doing a cleansing flight and haven't seen any. They may have winter killed. I still need to take down that branch before it falls down but I can leave just below the entrance and the rest of the tree. Could I put a nuc box or swarm box up in the tree at this spot and possibly catch a swarm later?

Possibly. There must be some sort of hive (feral or domestic) nearby. Chances are pretty good.
