Georgia already listed (thanks Scottsman) but wanted to add that most states also have a statute that supports bee keepers of any size by suspending pesticide spraying and other pest control applications if you let them know you have bees. I have a neat road sign I put up under an existing road sign as well as visiting my local mosquito war department and they were more than willing to accommodate me. They have ceased spraying down my road until they get 1/4 mile away or better.

Tried to load a couple pics but kept getting 404 error code. I painted it Caterpillar yellow with black lettering and graphics. I put my location and hive name (Heretic Hive) on it. No complaints from the road department

I pass through Jefferson every year. I would like to move there, I think I would fit in just fine.

    Anything for Michigan?

Either I'm not very diligent in looking or do they now let the Michigan beekeepers 'fly by the seat of their pants?' On another thread I started concerning AFB one poster mentioned, I believe in FL, that a bee inspector told him that he hadn't seen AFB for many years. So with the tightening of the states' financial belts over the last few decades has many states just dropped their bee registration and inspection programs?

Really just peeking around the corner, not seeking anymore state or municipal taxation or registration fees, but don't want to get 'hung up' with a penalty for not reporting such. Remembering the old saying that 'ignorance of the law doesn't give one a pass-go free card if caught.'

    Massachusetts:
    https://malegislature.gov/Laws/Gener...r128/Section32

Can click forward from there, the bee laws are sections 32-36B.

Interesting side note, Section 33 seems to prohibit some of the newer hive designs for use in Massachusetts, you need movable frames - which to me means Langstroth only (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Arizona appears to have very limited beekeeping regulations. One of them is here:
    http://www.azda.gov/Docs/Beeslandownerpermission.pdf

I suggest contacting the Arizona Ag Dept as per that page to ask if there are other current beekeeping regulations.

In some of my past conversations with Dee Lusby, she explained to me how her and Ed fought the state to deregulate beekeeping. I'm thinking that is why you can't find much in AZ as well as associations. Kind of the wild west there.
