A big hello from Northeast PA

Hi everyone , I've been wanting to take the plunge for quite awhile , my grandfather was quite the beekeeper 40 hives at one time and was working some when in his 80's . I would go with him to pick up swarms in his 56 Buick ! Wish I would have stayed with it when he was around and learned more from him , he had a real nice setup in his basement , one real big maybe 72 frame extractor and one much smaller hand crank . I still remember eating the capping as he cut them off the frame , good times for a young lad .I didn't learn much at my young age with him so you might get some neebe questions once in awhile I'll need all the help I can get . I'm going to make my own boxes and start getting things around .

I hear ya, my dad always kept bees but never paid enough attention.

Hi, Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on taking the plunge. I'm sure that the past bee experiences with your Grandfather will resurface and help you when are working your bees. This forum is great. There is a thread called colony update in PA that maybe you would like here is the link.
