    Default Small Hive Beetle

I am new here, and I just tried the search feature with no luck on the topic. So if anyone can point me to any forum discussion on hive beetles it would be appreciated.

    If not
I have 10 hives, most are quite strong. one of my strongest Nucs I on monday transferred it to a regular super box so it could grow. however, i noticed the nuc (although very strong) had quite a few small hive beetles. The guy who has been helping me was saying that I don't have to worry about the beetle because it wont harm the bees etc. but I want to get rid of them. I also don't want them nesting in any of the other hives which seem clean.

should i separate the infected hive ? and are there any safe methods to rid that one hive of the beetles.

    Regards

    Matt

A strong healthy hive can usually keep SHB at bay. I doubt a quarantine will help since SHB infest a hive by flying/walking in the front door. You could try one of the many SHB traps that are available.
