    Default Honey Pecan Pie!!!

    We (as in I helped) made two pies, and we used the thin honey from uncapped frames that I spun out first, the pies set just fine It was quick and easy to make.

    Best pecan pie I ever had! The subtle honey flavor goes well with pecans.

    For one pie;

    1 cup honey
    3 beaten eggs
    3 tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. real vanilla
    1 cup pecan halves
    1 pinch of nutmeg
    1 pie crust

    Boil the honey, stir until it comes to a boil.
    Mix in beaten eggs. Then add other ingredients and stir.
    Pour into pie crust.
    Bake at 325 degree for 30-40 minutes.

    Thanks for sharing. Is it necessary to actually boil the honey? I've not cooked with it before and wonder if it changes like sugar syrup does when you boil it...turning into a thicker ball of candy.

    It does not get boiled for very long, so I don't think it goes to the candy stage. It may not be necessary but you may have to cook the pie longer to get it to set.

    It would reduce a step and make this even easier.
