    Default Changing a feeder question

Here is a dumb newbie question. I went to refill my mason jar entrance feeder so I have to take it out of the little cup that holds the lid. when I took it out, the bees were everywhere under the cap drinking, but they started coming out. How do I get the feeder back into the frame it sits in without squishing bees?

Use copious amounts of smoke or go place it back in there at night.

pull out the feeder and shake the bees out, put jar in, reinsert in entrance.

I'd get a second jar so you can pop the full one in immediately.

Actually, I'd get a hive top feeder to reduce the risk of robbing...

Had a second feeder so I just changed the whole feeder and left the other one at the hive so the cluster on it could just get back in hive, Came back and got it at about 615 ( temp ) in 40's when all the girls were in the hive. Had about 7 on the feeder dead, proably had died before i took it out. Several were blocking the channel in feeder so proably good thing i changed the whole feeder.
