Bee's in a barn

I am new beek. First season starts March 30 with arrival of my package. Friend of mine has a barn with a wall full of honey bees. Thought I would buy a hive, place it near this barn, put LGO inside and catch a swarm. Is this likely to happen? Any advice would be most helpful.

If the host hive is strong enough to swarm it's very likely you'll catch one from them. Have your bait hive in place and not too close to the barn;
be cooler to do a cut out though and get the entire hive.
