Tony from Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Hi guys,
I am a 27 year old male who recently moved to Florida from Australia and New Zealand and have always been interested in bees (due to our history with them). I recently decided that I'd like to take up beekeeping and came across this forum probably twenty times when searching google for information so far so I thought that I'd join up myself!
Like everyone I'm sure I have a lot of questions.
I am looking at first getting a colony or two and seeing how I go with those in the backyard, then eventually seeing if I can make it marketable in pollination and bee products locally. But even that's getting way too ahead of myself.
First however, I humbly seek to learn the way of the bee.

Re: Tony from Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Welcome, I'm pretty new myself. Started my first hive, a tbh in January and I'll be starting an all medium lang set up later this week. The broward Beekeepers Assoc. meets the second sunday of the month. This month Sam from Anarchy Apiaries will be speaking.

Re: Tony from Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Thanks guys!
I love bees and always have, as a child I could sit inches from my grandparents' lavender bush and hundreds of bees would just fly around me collecting without stinging or being aggressive.
Seems like a very noble pursuit that not only can bring joy and financial rewards, but helps our ecosystem. What could be better?
What I really need is a mentor in my area who can teach me everything.
