Lotions/facial moisturizers

So, I was about to buy some Burt's Bees facial moisturizer etc today and then I decided maybe I should try to make my own or read up on it first.

Does anyone have any experience making either beeswax lotions or moisturizer or using it? Does it actually do good things for your skin?
