Newbie from UPSTATE NY
Just want to say hello and thank you. I have been "eves dropping" on your site for a month or so, and have become addicted. So against my wife's better judgement I now have 1 and a half painted hives in my basement! I sent my membership dues out to the local beekeepers assoc. yesterday, and have put a down payment on a nuc! Thanks! LOL. (Little bit of sarcasm) I want to congratulate everyone here. This is one of the best forums I have seen, and I have several hobbies all of which have web forums. That being said..I read some info on the benefits of "raw" honey a while back. Sounded good and I have always liked honey, so why not get a couple bees? If I only knew what I was getting into! I grew up on a small farm, and have raised all sorts of critters. Ran off to college and got a piece of paper that said I knew something about biology. Came back to my home town, and bought a little bit of land. I now have a garden, and run a few beef cows. Working in my garden i have often wondered "Where are all the honey bees?" As a child it seemed like they were every where. Seems to me if there was ever a time to "help" the honey bee it is now. So here I am! I will thank many of you in advance, because as with any "newbie" I have a million questions! So thanks!
