Novel, perhaps, but I don't want to have to be the one to get that hive apart. The bees are going to build comb between the boxes like crazy -- the main reason the top bar is so wide is to keep the bees from making continuous comb!

He must have propolis deficient bees, too -- I don't that that spliced frame is going to survive getting pried out of my hives.
