I joined the forum last year but wasn't very active. I'm starting my second year in the hobby and am really looking forward to getting a good set of hives going! Last year I started relatively late in the season with two weak nucs, I lost one quickly but the other held on until late summer when something happened to the queen. I've spent the winter reading up and gearing up and have three packages on order. I am particularly interested in bee genetics and hope to raise my own queens as I gain more experience.
I've joined the Prince William Regional Beekeeping Association based on a recommendation from a club member I've known for a long time (Joe G.). I plan on being at the bee school next Thursday so I hope to meet some of you there.
Anyway glad to be here and looking forward to learning and helping!
