Is anyone planning on stimulative feeding this spring? I haven't tried this before, but am interested this year.
I see two ways of doing this:
1. give each hive a half-cup of 1:1 syrup every day. Pro: manpower intensive as the feeders have to be filled each day. Con: bees won't have free reign to start storing tons of sugar water.
2. keep a continuous supply of 1:1 syrup available. Pros: less manpower, bees have all the syrup they want. Con: bees may store syrup in comb encouraging honey-lock.
thoughts, anyone?
