Default Hive died, how do I get rid of ants?

I had a hive die off, and there are tons of fire ants inside it. Is there a good way to encourage them to leave so I can keep as much of the drawn comb as possible?

The fire ants won't eat wax--they are doing you a favor cleaning up the comb. At our bee school this weekend it was suggested that if you have a hive slimed by SHB, you should sit the boxes over a fire ant hill and they will clean off all the slime and leave the wax useable.
Just let them finish and I suspect they will leave when they are done.

If you want the ants killed and gone, put a thick, solid line of Boric Acid across the entrance.
Before a bee stings, it will be sure to let you know that it will hurt them more than it will hurt you.
