Checked my 11 hives for first time today. Two dead-outs so far. Most of the others were very low on food even for this time of year given the winter temps were not extra warm. So now I'm feeding. Can not use liquid feed yet so made up some candy for inside the hive. Good thing I checked them inside rather than just lifting the hive from behind and checking general weight. I live in the Kansas City area and suggest if you live in the same area you might want to check your hives for feed.

PS, they brought in some pollen which I found in those dead-outs. We had a few warm days so they must have found some pollen. My observation hive in not very active and I had not noticed any pollen coming in.
