pollen supplement

Hello i live in Nova Scotia Canada and i am heading into my second year of beekeeping and i was wondering what pollen supplement is the better one to get ? also when should i put it on ? It is still snowing off and on and temps run around -15 C to 5 C it's been a strange winter , but i have been keeping an eye on the bees and they gobbled up the sugar cakes i made for them and some of the pollen subtitute i made in late fall. i didn't know if the substitute was good enough or not .

I have read a lot on different supplements rather than using substitutes and i think the supplements are better due to them having actual pollen in them. but i don't really know what is the best one to go with

i really want to give them the best start i can , so please let me know what you all think.

Do you have leftover honey form last year? That's the best sub you can get and should be free too.
