Once you have it you will have to cut it out. Dosent hurt to dip your pruners in a bleach solution. Once you have it cut out burn it
^^ like they said - no cure but it can spread... best to burn...
Just saw on TV to bleach your pruners with each cut and to cut at least 4 inches below the infection for the black knot on plums. I think peaches get that too. I agree to burn the trimmings. Remember to bleach after the last cut also.
I hope you didn't have that from last summer. It does spread.
there are some fungicides that will help, also was told by a commercial apple grower, remove all wild cherry and plum trees(they carry the disease).

First you must cut out the knots in spring b4 bud break at least 4 inches below existing knots
Spray fungicide try Captain or Bravo
Spray timing is bud break to petalfall
This is a big problem on plums in south Ontario
