Pollen Patties shelf life?

In the interest of not hijacking the pollen patty drying out thread I have started this one.

What is the shelf life of purchased pre-made pollen patties?
What is the shelf life of dry substitute?
What is the shelf life of patties made from dry substitute?

I'm wondering about this too. I made some last winter, and have kept it in the freezer ever since. I wonder if it's still good...

Thanks AFC, so it seems up to 6 months is OK. That might make the left over fall patties questionable for me to use... bummer

I spoke to a Mann Lake Rep about a month ago and asked him about Protien Pattys which I got from a friend of mine. They were a year old, had not been stored in a cooler or freezer, but also not in a heated room nor where rodents had access to them. He said they would have a lower protien content than new ones due to their age, but they would still be good. The bees would still get some benefit from them.

I used 450 of them, some hives getting two. I was back thru my hives w/ the new patties and found no trace of the previou application after less than three weeks. So, whether they were as good as they could have been, the bees seemed to like them.

Sqkcrk, Are you feeding sub mid January in upstate NY? With about a mid April maple start? No opinion just asking.

My bees are in SC. I know guys who go to almonds who feed patties pretty much continuously from the time they get to SC from NY until they leave for CA. I'll be throwing a patty on mine before they go to blueberrys in March. Blueberry pollen is poor quality pollen.
