I've been trying to get up to speed with my knowledge of the SHB with has generated some questions.

What exactly is the time frame (# of days) from egg being laid until the larvae crawls out of the hive and into the ground?

How many cycles per year typically? Or are the SHB laying eggs daily?

How big are the larvae and how easily can they be seen?

Does a screened bottom board with cooking oil beneath the screen increase the casualty rate of the larvae?

How far will the larvae crawl from the hive before entering the ground?
