As a second year beekeeper I am interested in trying my hand at some small scale queen rearing. I started with 3 hives last year and expanded to 11 with overwintering nucs. I lost one to absconding and the other to a poor queen. So far my girls are all doing fine and it is pretty chilly here in CT. We are looking at 8 degrees tonight and it doesn't look like the mercury will top 20 for the foreseeable future. Can anyone suggest some good reference material? I have searched the internet as any good 21st century beekeeper would do but I would like a good page turner. Something I can curl up with before bed while the wind howls outside my bedroom window. :-)
