ANY benefit,
even 3 percent or less?
I've heard about the negative effect on mandarin,
does that apply to tangelo too?
You know, about 50 hives for the flow only, then removed.

I'm sure there is. If a grower has hundreds of acres there's no where near enough native pollinators to pollinate that many fruit trees. They let beekeepers move bees in for some reason. They must get something out of the deal.
My personal experience was that they let me in for honey! They did not need pollination. And many years if it was not convenient, they didn't want any hives. But lots of the smaller groves do have their own shops where they sell/ship their own citrus and they like selling honey when they can tell their customers that it actually came from their grove.
