Default Observation Hive Plans (looking for)

I have gotten the green light from the wife to put a wall mount observation hive in the den. I am wanting one that I can house bees in year around. If anyone has any plans on building any please if you can share with me that would be great. Thanks

Here's a free set of plans for a 1x8 medium frame obs hive.

These folks sell a set of plans for $32, which includes several different OB hives.

Go on beemaster.com and look up the observation hive specialkayme built. He did it in a series of posts with photos and documentation of the whole process. It is a very cool thread.

As Rwuster stated, lookup the specialkayme thread. You can google "Watch me build an observation hive", or just click here:

some good ideas there, even if you start with something else.

    How do you like it?
Do you have bees in it now?
Is the bee space right, did they bur comb on the glass?
Would you make any changes to it?

    Thanks

I liked it. I don't have bees in it right now. The cluster 2 winters ago was too small and died in February of the next spring. Otherwise, it went well; no excessive burr comb on the glass, just a few places here and there. As far as changes, I would put hinged cabinet type doors instead of sliding boards.
