    Default So far so good

Last fall most of my 11 hives seemed to have enough stores to get through the winter so I did not feed or treat any of my hives. I also did not put in any of the panels to close of the bottom of my screened bottom boards. Last week we had a day that warmed up a bit and so far all of the hives have a good bunch of bees flying in and out. I will put foundant and pollen substitude patties in around the first of Feb. I hope this all goes well so I can build up my hives for early divides.

They will brood up better if you put in the bottom boards. (debris boards) imo

i don't know if it has anything to do with it or not, but my neighbor runs screened bottoms, and i run solids.

he has way more small hive beetles in his hives than i do.
