Rabbit Brush started blooming this week. Started a week ago in upper elevations. A lot of people don't like Rabbit Brush Honey! Many beeks around here pull their supers off when the rabbit brush starts blooming. The bees sure love it, though

Our pollen report lists Elm, Juniper, Ash and Sycamore. I am seeing Ornamental plumb and cherry trees in bloom all over. Dandelion has been in bloom for a couple of weeks now. I have seen a couple of dogwood trees in bloom that are in sheltered locations.
Significant Minority vs Insignificant Majority, 20% of causes produce 80% of the effects.

    Plants?

I'm new to beekeeping out here. I can't see ANYthing blooming in the area except for a TINY bit of buttercup of some sort, very random and not much of it. My bees are hauling in fairly large amounts of pale yellow and orange pollen. Anyone know what it is?

Our Lacebark Elm are just starting to bloom. Bees aren't working them yet for pollen, but collecting propolis from wounds after some timming. Pollen reports have us seeing juniper and poplar (cottonwoods) bloom as well. Our cottonwoods are definately trying to break bud. Have seen flowering ornamental apple, plum and cherry all over town as well.

Desert gooseberry is blooming and the bees love it.
    Also...
Wild fennel and yarrow are blooming.
Desert Peonies are about to open.

Some other small wildflowers I don't know yet. Wild lupines are budding, but not blooming just yet.

All of these are natives and are far from variations you'd find in a nursery. Local bees love them and I'm just spotting my foragers on them as well.

    What is needed:

    •zip code, city or county
•date when the plant first bloomed
    •name of the plant
•comments - example: if it was the end of the bloom just add that to the comments
