May I suggest a "pre filter" over your cold air return register? Remove and vac often.

Looks good. Beats freezing your bum off. lol

Dust is a big deal. I hook up a shop vac to the table saw and have a window exhaust fan to blow out as much dust as I can.

I don't like the drop cloth on the floor. To easy to stumble and fall into a machine and get hurt.
Use weather stripping on the entry door. If the heat is forced air you have to place a filter over the cold air duct and or close it off and tie in the exhaust fan to the furnace blower. Make sure you don't starve the furnace on the return air.

I have a 2 hp dust collector; cost ~ 520 cdn.
Sucks in >1700 cfm through 3 4" hoses.
It would resolve your dust issues.
Ace is right about the plastic on the floor; maybe a canvas tarp stapled down?

Collecting the saw dust at the source is always a good thing. UP here it saves on the heat bill to not exhaust the dust.

I agree with Acebird and Gord about the drop cloth, and dust collection.

One additional thing I like is, on as many patters as possible let your stock run under a cover so there is no way to get your fingers/hands in the blade. Even if you fall on the saw, you cannot get to the blade. I guess a better way to describe this is, let your stock run through a tunnel, with the blade covered.
