Lightbulb Ideas wanted for beekeeping app

I am currently working on a beekeeping app for both the Iphone and Android phones. I am looking for ideas of things to include in it such as a bee calander and inspection sheet/ logs with the ability to attach photos. Can you guys think of some usefull tools that you would like to see in a app? Thanks in advance for your time and expertise on this project.

Can you elaborate a little bit? Do you mean if the location of the hive is entered, the program would figure estimated max forage distance for that hive or the user would program the known forage sites?

Heck, I don't need all other hives, how about just the feral ones?

    Beehaive

There is a web site that uses a maps program that allows you to locate your hives and then highlights 1 2 and 3 mile radius.
Works real well when you are looking for areas to set new hives. Maxmizes forage area with little overlap.
Nectar flow charts. Pollen levels. I could go on for hours.

Be able to enter bloom dates. Over time it would produce a pretty good local almanac.
Is it solipsistic in here, or is it just me?

Include a plastic sleeve for the phone. Honey, wax and propolis are not smartphone friendly.
Include a stylus pen for pushing the touchscreen with gloves on or fingers thru the plastic cover.

A "siri" type interface to reduce needing to touch the phone. I currently record voice messages and transcribe the notes later.

Beekeeping notebook..... for my windows surface.. Maybe add in inventory for equipment and to do list.

Or if that's boring, what about a simulation beekeeping game that includes a lot of variables such as seasons, illness, queenless, first year vrs second year hive ect... This would be a fun way to learn the trade. You could start with two free hives and charge for more or require honey/wax sales to buy game money with an option to spend real money.

Sorry, that did not answer the question for phone based apps. I would appreciate optional bar coding added in for quick reference to a hive one is working on.

I would like to see an app that can be used for both/either a palletized operation or non palletized; maybe a different configuration for each option.

It would be nice to be able to make one entry that would apply to an entire yard, instead of having to make notes on a hive-by-hive basis.

I agree with this. Once you are trying to keep up with more than a couple of dozen hives, it is too difficult making notes on every hive. Notes on each yard makes more sense. I have looked for this in other apps, but they are all geared to small operations.

Agreed; that'd be quite helpful too.
